Day 1 Arrive Chennai (Flight) – Drive to Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram) (50 Kms / 1 Hour)
Upon arrival at Chennai traditional welcome & transfer to Mahabalipuram, an important port and capital of the Pallava Empire, Mahabalipuram, is known for its Pallava temples and sculptures. Upon arrival check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 Mahabalipuram
After breakfast half day sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram – is famous for its unique 7th-century Shore Temple, lovely beach and some of the most beautiful rock-cut temples in the world. Situated on the shore of the Bay of Bengal, Mahabalipuram was already a famous seaport in the 1st century AD. This town was a workshop for temple building. Visit the seven pagoda-style shore temples, lashed by the waves of the sea and the seven Rathas or temple chariots, a group of monolithic monuments & animal figures carved out of solid rock, the earliest known examples of Dravidian architecture. Day 3 Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram (65 Kms / 1 Hours per way)
Morning after breakfast take a excursion to Kanchipuram, is one of the most sacred towns of India and known as the city of thousand temples, visit Kailashnath Temple, Sri Ekambaranatha Temple and Kamakshi Temple. Return to your hotel in Mahabalipuram by evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry (115 Kms / 3 hours) — Chidambaram (65 kms / 1.5 kms) — Gangaikondacholapuram (147 kms/ 2.5 hours) — Kumbakonam (68 kms / 1.5 hous)
After breakfast drive to Kumbakonam, one of the oldest towns in Tamil Nadu & and is famous for its Mahamaham festival celebrated once in 12 years in the Mahamaham tank, en route visit famous Aurobindo ashram of Pondicherry. Later proceed to Chidambaram & have Darshan at Nataraja Temple. Chidambaram is one of the foremost Saivite shrines; the very name Kovil refers to Chidambaram, where Nataraja is enshrined in the Chit Sabha or the Hall of Consciousness. Continue onto Kumbakonam, again en route visit Gangaikondacholapuram temple which was built by the Chola emperor Rajendra 1 (1012-44) in the style of the Brihadeeswara Temple at Thanjavur, built by his father, upon arrival check into hotel. Day 5 Kumbakonam – Tanjore (35 kms / 0.5 Hours)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and visit temples of Kumbakonam. Later drive to Tanjore. Upon arrival in Tanjore visit Brihadishwara Temple, Tanjore Palace & Museum. Later transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 Tanjore – Trichy (65 kms / 1.5 Hours)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Trichy situated on the banks of River Cauvery. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Rest of the day is free for individual activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 Trichy – Madurai (185 kms / 4 hours)
After breakfast visit Rock fort temple and Srirangam – the Sriranganatha Swamy temple.
Later drive to Madurai. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 Madurai
Morning breakfast at hotel. Later start city tour of Madurai visiting Meenakshi Temple, Nayak Palace and Museum. Rest of the time free at leisure. Later in the evening visit to Meenakshi temple once again to witness the evening Aarti ceremony. The consort of Goddess Durga – Shiva is brought to her Chamber in procession. The entire procession takes about 45 Minutes. Overnight at hotel.
Day 9 Madurai – Periyar (135 kms / 5 hours)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Periyar.
Periyar wildlife sanctuary is home to nomadic tribes of wild elephant boar, deer the great Indian tiger and more upon arrival check in at hotel. Evening go for boat ride in the lake to watch wild animals. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 Periyar – Munnar (100 kms / 3 hours)
Early in the morning proceed for a nature walk through the spice plantation along with a naturalist. Later return to your hotel for breakfast. After breakfast drive to Munnar. Upon arrival check into your hotel. In Afternoon visit, Tea Gardens, Mattupetty Dam/Kundala Dam, Echo Point. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11 Munnar – Kumarakom (180 kms / 4 hours)
After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Upon arrival in check into a traditional houseboat of Kerala Style and go on a leisurely backwater cruise along the lake on a thatched houseboat. The houseboat with all modern comforts lets you discover the countryside at your own pace. You will have lunch, dinner and breakfast in the Houseboat. A ride on the houseboat is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters. Overnight onboard on Houseboat.
Day 12 Alleppey – Cochin (65 Kms / 1 hours)
Disembark your houseboat at Alleppey and drive to Cochin. Cochin is one of the most famous historical cities of Kerala. Cochin is also famous for its exceptionally beautiful backwaters and beaches. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Rest of the day is free for individual activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 Cochin
Morning after breakfast start half day city tour of Cochin visit the famous Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), St. Francis Church and the Jewish Synagogue. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14 Cochin – Departure Flight
In time transfer to airport to catch your flight to your onwards destination. (No accommodation in Cochin)
