Tour Program in Brief:
Rajasthan with Central India Tour is a 17 days holiday in and around the deserts, forts, palaces, camels, crafts, people and culture which inspires. You travel and explore the exotic towns of Orchha, Gwalior along with many of Rajasthan like the quaint Bundi. The tour gets a bit erotic and eyes-wide-open at Khajuraho. Day 1: Arrive Delhi (Flight)
Upon arrival in Delhi met and assisted by our company representative at airport. After traditional welcome transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi (Sightseeing)
Morning after breakfast at hotel start a combined city tour of old & new Delhi. Start from Red Fort (Closed on Monday) built in red sandstone, Constructed by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque and Rajghat crimination place of Mahatma Gandhi. Later enjoy the cycle rickshaw ride through the bustling street of Chandni Chowk. After visiting Old Delhi monuments drive to New Delhi & drive past India Gate built in memory of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1st World War drive past the Rashtrapathi Bhawan, Parliament House, the other government buildings also visit Humayun’s Tomb the mausoleum of emperor Humayun’s & Qutub Minar. Later in the evening visit Gurudawara Bangla Sahib – the Sikh temple. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.
Day 3: Delhi – Mandawa (260 kms / 5 hrs)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Mandawa, known throughout for its wonderful castle and magnificent Havelis, Mandawa gives the impression of living in the bygone era. Upon arrival check into hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Mandawa.
Day 4: Mandawa – Bikaner (206 kms / 4 hrs)
After breakfast visiting Chowkhani Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, Lakshmi Narayan Ladia Haveli and Mohahanlal Saraf Haveli.
Later drive to Bikaner the old city is encircled by a seven-km-long city wall with fine entrance gates, constructed in the 18th century. The city is mainly interesting for the superb large fort and palace, built of the same reddish-pink sandstone as Jaipur’s famous buildings. Upon arrival check into hotel. Overnight at hotel in Bikaner.
Day 5: Bikaner – Jaisalmer (330 kms / 6hrs)
Morning after breakfast at hotel start a half-day city tour of Bikaner visit to Junagarh Fort, Museum & Lallgarh Palace. Later drive to Jaisalmer founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D., the remote location of Jaisalmer kept it almost untouched by outside influences, even during the days of the Raj. Jaisalmer was the last to sign the Instrument of Agreement with the British. In Medieval times, its prosperity was due to its location on the main trade route linking India to Egypt, Arabia, Persia, Africa and the West. Ages have gone by and the monuments of Jaisalmer have withstood the buffeting winds of the desert all through. Jaisalmer is a marvel of beautiful culture and harsh climatic conditions, together amounting to a memorable experience. Upon arrival check into hotel. Overnight at hotel in Jaisalmer .
Day 6: Jaisalmer (Sightseeing)
Morning after breakfast at hotel half-day city tour to visit Jaisalmer Fort, Havelis (Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli), Gadi Sagar & Museum. Afternoon return back to hotel & around 1600 Hrs again start Excursion to Sam Sand Dunes where you will enjoy an hours Camel Ride to see the sun set, return back to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Jaisalmer.
Day 7: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (290 kms / 6 hours)
Morning after Breakfast at hotel drive to Jodhpur, city at the edge of the Thar desert was once the capital of the Marwar state. It was founded in 1459 A.D. by Rao Jodha-chief of the Rathore clan of Rajput. In Jodhpur; the genius of its sculptors comes to life in its exquisite palaces, forts, temples and Havelis, which stand as a testimony to the imperial grandeur. Upon arrival check into hotel. Later visit the majestic Mehrangarh fort museum. The Mehrangarh fort has been the stronghold of the Rathore princes from 1453AD. We see the superb collection of paintings and arms and ammunitions. The view of the city from the rampart walls is breath taking. Later visit Jaswant Thada. Overnight at hotel in Jodhpur.
Day 8: Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur (290 kms / 6 hrs)
Morning after breakfast drive to Udaipur and visit Ranakpur en route. Ranakpur is famous Jain pilgrimage center of north India. Continue to Udaipur, situated in the state of Rajasthan, means the ‘City of Sunrise’ have manifold attractions like imposing marble palaces, enchanting cool lakes, luxurious green gardens, and old temples. It has so many lakes and palaces that it is often called as the ‘City of Lakes and Palaces’. Upon arrival check-in at hotel. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Udaipur.
Day 9: Udaipur (Sightseeing)
Morning after Breakfast at hotel half-day city tour to visit Jagdish Temple, Maharana Jagat Singh built the Jagdish temple, which is in the centre of the old town and to the north of city palace, in 1651. This temple is dedicated to God Vishnu and has a shrine with a black stone image of lord Vishnu as Jagannath (Lord of the universe), City palace & Museums and Saheliyon ki Bari or Garden of the Maids of Honor, is in the north of the city. This small ornamental garden has fountains, kiosks, marble elephants and delightful lotus pool. Rest of the time free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Udaipur .
Day 10: Udaipur – Bundi (233 kms / 5 hours)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Bundi. Upon arrival in Bundi check into your hotel. Later visit Bundi Palace & Taragarh Fort. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Bundi.
Day 11: Bundi – Jaipur (220 kms / 5 hours)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan is popularly known as ‘The Pink City’ for the color of the buildings in its wonderful old city. This Buzzing metropolis is certainly a place of wild contrasts and is a feast for the eyes. Upon arrival check-in at hotel.
Afternoon visit the City Palace, the museum houses textiles, arms, carpets, paintings and manuscripts and other artistic paraphernalia & Astronomical observatory, built by Maharaja Jai Singh the founder of Jaipur, also visit Observatory & pass through Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Evening is free to explore the local colorful market of Jaipur. Overnight at hotel in Jaipur.
Day 12: Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (235 kms / 5 hours)
Morning after Breakfast visit Amer Fort & enjoy ride on a caparisoned elephant up to the Amber Fort established in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh of the Kachwaha dynasty. Within the Amber Fort are ornate palaces, courts, stairways, pillared pavilions.
Later drive to Agra en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, constructed by Akbar in 1569 to honor Sufi saint Salim Chisti. Akbar’s court occupied this city till it was abandoned due to non-availability of water but still in a state of perfect preservation.
After visting Fatehpur Sikri continue drive to Agra. Upon arrival in Agra check into your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Agra – Gwalior (120 kms / 3 hours)
Morning after breakfasts at hotel proceed for a city tour of Agra visiting. World famous Taj Mahal- (closed on Fridays) built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in the memory of his beautiful wife Mumtaj. Continue onto Agra Fort-built by Mughal emperor Akbar to commemorate his victory in war.
Later drive to Gwalior. Upon arrival in Gwalior check into your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Gwalior – Orchha (110 kms / 3 hours)
Morning breakfast at hotel. Later visit Gwalior Fort & Scindia Palace. Gwalior Fort situated 100m above the town the fort hill is about 3 km long. There are several things to see in around the fort i.e. Jain Sculptures, Teli-ka-Mandir, Sasbahu Temples, Man Singh Palace, and Gujri Mahal etc. After visiting Fort drive to the town & visit Scindia Museum & Palace where you will find it’s full of the bizarre items such as Belgian cut-glass furniture (including a rocking chair). The main durbar hall is impressive. The gold paint used around the room is about 58 Kg. The palace is really impressive & must to see.
Later to Orchha. Upon arrival at Orchha transfer to hotel. Orchha once the capital city of the Bundelas, Orchha, set among a wonderful complex of well preserved palaces and temples. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Orchha.
Day 15: Orchha
Morning breakfast at hotel. Later visit Jehangir Palace, Chaturbhuj Temple & Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Orchha.
Day16 Orchha – Khajuraho (180 kms / 4 hours)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Khajuraho. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Later in the afternoon visit Western group of temples, were built during the Chandela period, a dynasty that survived for five centuries before falling to the Mughal on slaught. The temples are superb examples of Indo-Aryan architecture, but it’s the decorations with which they are so liberally embellished that have made Khajuraho famous. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Day 17 Khajuraho – Delhi – Departure (Flight)
Morning after breakfast check out at hotel and drive to airport to catch your flight to Delhi to catch your flight to your onwards destination.
